Paraguayan Swimmer Luana Alonso, Kicked Out Of Paris Olympics 2024, Says Neymar “Sent Me A DM”

Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso who was allegedly kicked out of Paris Olympics 2024 village has revealed that Brazilian footballer Neymar Junior recently sent him a private message on Instagram. Alonso’s revelation comes day after reports claimed that the organising committee kicked her out of the Summer Games village for allegedly creating an “inappropriate atmosphere”. Speaking to Paraguayan radio show Aire de Todos, the 20-year-old has claimed that former Brazil captain is a huge fan and slid into her DMs, without revealing much details.

“He sent me a DM. That’s all I can say. It was left on the request form. I cannot tell this here,” Alonso said, as quoted by Fox Sports Mexico.

On her reported exile from the Olympic Games Village, Alonso also told that she was never removed or expelled from anywhere, urging people to “stop spreading false information.”

Neymar is set to miss the start of the next Saudi Pro League season as he recovers from a serious knee injury, Al Hilal’s coach said on Tuesday. The Brazilian attacker suffered the injury in October and missed much of the current campaign, but Al Hilal still won the league for a record-extending 19th time earlier this month. The Saudi league traditionally starts in August and the former Barcelona and PSG star will also miss next month’s Copa America.

“All I know now is that the time given to Neymar to recover and with similar injuries it is approximately from 10 to 11 months,” Al Hilal coach Jorge Jesus told reporters during pre-season.

The 32-year-old Neymar had surgery in Brazil in November for a torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus damage.

He was stretchered off in tears during Brazil’s 2-0 loss to Uruguay in a World Cup qualifier in October after colliding with an opponent.

Neymar left PSG for Al Hilal in 2023, the latest world-famous footballer snapped up by the big-spending Saudi Pro League.

He earns 100 million euros a season in Saudi Arabia, while PSG pocketed 100 million euros in the deal.

Eyewitness Describes Crash Horror In Brazil

'Saw The Plane Spinning': Eyewitness Describes Crash Horror In Brazil

New Delhi:

An airplane with 57 passengers and four crew members on board crashed in Brazil’s Sao Paulo, killing everyone on board. Images and videos from the spot show that the crash left flaming wreckage in a residential neighborhood.

Videos shared on social media showed the plane suddenly dropping from the sky, spiraling as it fell. It remains unclear how the accident occurred, VoePass airlines said in a statement. The last known tracking by FlightRadar24 of the plane was when it was at 4,100 feet and was approaching Sao Paulo.

Eyewitnesses described the heart-stopping moment scene as the ATR 72-500 aircraft plummeted almost vertically, spinning out of control before falling in a residential area.

Truck driver Martins Barbosa, 49, was working when he learned of the plane crash, which occurred 150 meters from his home.

“I thought it might have fallen on my house, with my son inside,” he told AFP, adding he felt despondent before learning his family was okay.

Nathalie Cicari, who lives near the crash site, told CNN Brasil the impact was “terrifying.”

“I was having lunch, I heard a very loud noise very close by,” she said, describing the sound as drone-like but “much louder.”

“I went out on the balcony and saw the plane spinning. Within seconds, I realized that it was not a normal movement for a plane.”

Cicari was not hurt but had to evacuate her house, which was filled with black smoke from the crash.

“I arrived at the scene and saw many bodies on the ground — many of them,” another witness, Ricardo Rodrigues, told local Band News.

The cause of the crash remains unknown, and investigations are underway. VoePass, one of Brazil’s oldest operating airlines, has pledged cooperation with authorities to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The ATR 72 model, manufactured by Airbus and Leonardo SpA, generally boasts a good safety record. However, this incident marks one of the deadliest aviation disasters this year.

Recovery efforts continue, with identification of the victims’ remains ongoing. The black box has been recovered, which will aid investigators in their inquiry.

VoePass initially said that 62 passengers and crew had been on the aircraft before updating the figure to 61.

PARIS:

The United States claimed a record-extending fifth Olympic gold medal in women’s soccer after Mallory Swanson earned them a 1-0 win over Brazil in the final at Parc des Princes on Saturday.

Following a goalless first half, Swanson broke the deadlock 12 minutes after the break to earn the US their first Olympic title since London 2012 after a perfect run in the tournament.

US coach Emma Hayes enjoyed almost instant success as she secured the title only two months after taking the job.

“I’m very emotional, it’s a dream of mine to be in this position,” a tearful Hayes told Eurosport. “I have to thank my dad for pushing me to this point, to be able to come and coach an incredible group of players that have received me so well.

“(They have) taken on everything I asked, they are tremendous people, players and role models. I love them.”

Brazil were dangerous in the opening stages and came close to scoring when Gabi Portilho drew a great save from Alyssa Naeher shortly before halftime. Naeher did well again in injury time to claw away Adriana’s header from point-blank range.

Brazil great Marta returned after a two-match ban handed down for a red card, coming on as a substitute after the hour mark, but did not have much impact as Brazil were beaten by the Americans in an Olympic final for the third time.

Germany beat Spain 1-0 to win the bronze medal on Friday.

Swanson, making her 100th international appearance, found the net with a low finish after a solo run and a great pass from Korbin Albert to cut through the Brazilian backline.

It was her fourth goal of the tournament.

Brazil could not capitalise on the three big chances they created to send the match to extra time, but received a huge ovation from their fans after the final whistle.

It was an intense and evenly fought duel cheered by a huge crowd at Paris St Germain’s stadium, with the likes of American former Ballon d’Or winner Megan Rapinoe, ex-Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and Tom Cruise also in attendance.

“The crowd was tremendous, Brazil was tremendous, I’m speechless,” former Chelsea manager Hayes added.
